I've always had a weird relationship with my hair! I have a wavy and dark brown hair which all my life I tried to change by dying it lighter and straightening it. I guess we always want what we can't have! I started dying my hair since I was 17 and bleaching it when I turned 18 and as far as I remember I used hair straighteners, curlers or blow dryers to style it. The combination of all of these destructive activities definitely took its toll on my hair, and now at 29, my hair is extremely damaged and lifeless.

After receiving the reality check that I can’t keep up damaging my hair like this, I started to invest more time and money in my hair routine and was on the hunt for good hair products. I tried a few and spent over hundreds of dollars to fix a decade of destruction, but no luck. Then, I came across Love Amika, a Brooklyn-based haircare brand, and started to apply their Bust your Brass shampoo and conditioner, hair mask, dry shampoo and conditioner and their styling spray. I was apprehensive to try another product and get disappointed again but after trying these products once, I was extremely surprised over the result

After one wash with the anti-brass shampoo and conditioner and using the styling spray before blow drying my hair, I was blown away by the results. After one week of using the Amika products, I realized that I found my haircare brand! My hair looks so much more alive and manageable now and I'm starting to receive so many compliments about my hair again . The after-wash products also makes it super easy to style my hair. My hair looks fuller, shinier, less red and very voluminous.

My new hair routine now with Love Amika products:

I use the anti-brass shampoo and conditioner every other day, and once a week apply the triple RX mask to repair the damage by the bleach, colouring and excessive styling. After the wash, I towel dry my hair and then use the Blowout bombshell spray before styling, then blow dry my hair. If I'm going out and want my hairdo to stay longer, I apply the Shield Style Extending spray. For when I don't wash my hair, I use the dry shampoo and conditioner to give my hair a fresh look.
