A Little Italian Heaven in the Heart of Vancouver
As a huge lover of food and cooking, one of my favroite things to do is to try out different restaurants. In Vancouver, we are truly blessed with a great food scene and the sheer number of amazing restaurants taking you to a culinary adventures. I pride myself as someone who knows most of the great restaurants in Vancouver, which is why I was very surprised when I found out about Robba da Matti, in Downtown, Vancouver!
Robba da Matti is like a little hole in a wall in the heart of Yaletown, Vancouver and by far one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Vancouver! Everything is made from scratch which is very distinct in the fresh flavours of any ingredient you enjoy. The dishes you try are exactly like what you are served in Italy! With the kitchen right by the bar, you witness the hustle and bustle of the chefs creating beautiful Italian dishes right in front of you, which is always a great sign when you go to a restaurant.
We tried the Robba da Matti date night menu which is ideal for a couple and includes your two choices of appetizers, two pasta dishes, two deserts and a bottle of red or white. We started with the Burrata and Prosciutto, and was constantly transported to Italian food heaven! I have never had a Burrata this creamy and delicious in Vancouver, which our server explained that they have them imported from Italy. For the main course, we tried the freshly-made al dente Spaghetti Allo Scoglio and the Lobster and Crab Ravioli paired a light bottle of red that elevated the experience even more. Freshly-made and packed with flavours, the pasta dishes . The seafood was beautifully cooked and drenched in a sauce with hints of garlic and tomato. Panna Cotta was our choice of dessert which took our culinary ride to a sweet finish line leaving us satisfied!
